Since the production of 30 limited edition brushes made of dense finest silvertip with a luxurious genuine buffalo horn earlier this year was so successful, I've been receiving some requests on making another limited edition brush, but this time, made of boar bristles.
The
Semogue Owners Club is a internet community present in
Facebook and
Damn Fine Shave devoted to the wonderful Semogue brushes. This group challenged me to make a new and exclusive boar brush. The boar grade has to be special, so we used an exclusive boar grade that is not available in any regular production boar brush from Semogue. The master craftsman has some of this special grade boar stocked and in his opinion it's the finest boar grade available. The handle needed to be special too, it is made in cherry wood and in a distinct shape, similar to the 1305/1800, but slightly bigger.
These brushes will be numbered from 1 to 100, that's how many are available. In the bottom of the handle, it has the number of the brush, the Semogue logo in center and the year 2009.
The knot will have a 24 mm diameter and 57 mm height. The handle will be 57 mm tall and have 37 mm in its widest point.
This brush has been tested by some of the most prestigious Semogue connoisseurs. This brush will be available to be shipped next December 10th, so get yourself a chance to have one of these exclusive brushes before Christmas.
The first photo shows the cherry wood in its final finish. The second one compares its exclusive shape with to popular handle models - 2000 and 2010.
